Squadron Leader - Gold

I have been riding with West Granite since 2019 when the team was much smaller than it is now.  One of my daughters rode that year but I fell in love with the league and the values it teaches through mountain biking.

I ride because it's fun and it gives me an escape from the stresses of life.  I have also made a lot of new friends through mountain biking, particularly on the West Granite Composite team.

I coach because I have seen kids gain confidence and make friends on the team.  The team can't do the great things it does without a strong force of volunteers.  I also have some hilarious dad jokes that need an audience outside of my family.  I have ridden a lot of trails over the years.  If I had to pick one as my favorite, I would go with the Goodwater Rim Trail in the San Rafael Swell.  It has a good mix of everything and scenery at every turn.

Squadron Leader - Blue

I am a Utah native and grew up in Cottonwood Heights and Murray. I have always loved the outdoors and spending time in the mountains. I first went mountain biking in 1994 on a fully rigid Specialized Rockhopper, which I still have!
I love any trail that allows me to explore the outdoors and see new places. Porcupine Rim is probably the trail that I enjoyed the most, and I would love to ride The Whole Enchilada this year.
I joined the West Granite Composite team for the 2021 season. It has been awesome watching the kids grow, improve, and gain confidence on their bikes. I hope we can set them on a path toward a lifetime enjoyment of riding bikes, and share a love and respect for the outdoors.

Head Coach

My favorite trail is Wire Mesa! This will by my eighth season riding with our awesome team. I ride because I absolutely love the sport. The work, the views, and the reward of feeling great after pushing myself. I enjoy riding with solo and with friends. I coach student-athletes, because I love seeing what they can accomplish when they have learned the skills. I especially love seeing our student-athletes push themselves and the joy I can see on their faces when they can overcome obstacles and finish strongly, whether it is at practice or a race.
